cameron has his good days of stiffness and his bad.. we just picked up his ankle braces yesterday we had to go about 2 inches above his ankle because his ankles are weak. he's a resilient little boy as Im sure yours is too.. im here to talk anytime you want..

@PistonsWolverines - I am a 30 year old woman with spastic ataxic CP. I remember my doctors having a hard time deciding whether I was hemiplegic or diplegic. My parents ignored a lot of the doctors advice and did not opt for braces or walkers, they did get me orthodics though. They focused on lots of stretching, and otherwise treating me as though I was normal. I have few problems now other than weak ankles, which I exercise. Best of luck!

Your son kinda walks like mine.Yesterday, my son was also diagnosed w/ Spastic Hemiplegia. We were told that he is going to need an ankle-foot brace & phys. therapy, if by the time he turns 4, it hasn't improved, then surgery would be a must. Needless to say, I feel SO sad! Been crying like crazy this evening. I read that muscle stiffness can worsen w/time, & if it gets bad enough, some ppl become wheelchair bound. I pray to God that will never happen. We will help our Son as best as we can.
