Americans now view the word "luxury" and the typical visual imagery of the luxury lifestyle in a negative light However, by a wide margin, affluent consumers choose experiences, such as travel, dining, entertainment, as the luxury purchases that give them the most satisfaction, with over half naming experiences as their most satisfying luxury purchases.
