Socialist protesters and paraphernalia dominated today's left-wing protest rally in Washington, DC. The so-called "One Nation" rally was led by labor unions as an attempt to counter Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor Rally, which took place in DC on 8-28-2010.

  • @glorebot01 Then how do you explain why Democratic Socialist nations (like Sweden for example) have some of the best standards of living and are some of the most egalitarian societies in the world. We don't want everything for nothing, we want everyone to have equal opportunities, rights and services. And finally, using excessive exclamation points doesn't improve your point, it just makes you look like an cunt who too uneducated to use proper grammar.

  • Anthem of Russia? My country is not socialist...

USSR was not even socialist, it was capitalism, and the state was the capitalist. We were on the way to socialism, but Stalin and counter-revolutionaries took over. They only called it socialism for the same reason America calls itself a democracy - to keep power.

Socialism is good, and one day we will oust corrupt putin the cheats all elections with everyone knowing, and we will have the Communist Party organising our economy for all again.))

  • @glorebot01: Move to Sweden and take your ignorance with you. Good luck getting in!

  • @glorebot01: "And finally, using excessive exclamation points doesn't improve your point, it just makes you look like an cunt who too uneducated to use proper grammar."

-is that not the pot calling the kettle black?

  • @ScantGore Also, there is no such thing as *Leninist Communism*, Communism is a classless stateless society. The USSR was a Marxist-Leninist State Socialist nation, which later on turned into a deformed State Capitalist nation.

  • @ScantGore Sweden isn't Socialist man, it's a Social Democracy. Democratic Socialism isn't different to normal Socialism, all Democratic Socialism means is socialism acheived through elections. Sweden is a welfare capitalist state, Socialism is when the means of production are controlled by the workers and private property is abolished, Sweden has the capitalist mode of production and private property isn't abolished, it's a Capitalist system, there is nothing Socialist about it.

  • Let's all be equally poor. Socialism rules!

  • @wildnites558 I don't know where to begin...I'm not defending or condoning the Soviet system. Democratic Socialism is not the same as Stalinist or Leninist Communism, and it's pure idiocy to claim otherwise. It astounds me that such ignorance still exists, if I was defending the USSR I would have said so, but if you read my comment, you'll notice I never mentioned the USSR and was talking about a different political ideology to Stalinist/Leninist Communism.

  • @ScantGore yeah, you go girl <3

  • Really? then why were all the world's commies always trying to defend it? Why did all of Soviet defectors come to American to speak of the ills of communism? I never heard any of the defectors I read about exclaim 'Oh, the USSR is really Capitalist, that's why all of us defectors came here to USA'. Huh? Why would they defect to the US if USSR is already Capitalist? Why did all the socialist jounalists in America continually defend Stalin and the Soviets? I think you're trying to rewrite history.

  • @free00to00ryhme I absolutely agree, smart regulation is key. (I didn't mean to make that rhyme:p)

  • @mattt1994 its not that Deregulation is bad. He just deregulated the wrong things. we do need SOME regulation. but we gotta pick carefully where and what we are regulating or deregulating. some things just need the freedom to grow. such as small businesses. A Free Market is the best choice.
