Passions flared in Washington Tuesday as ethnic Uighurs and their supporters marched through the streets. They were protesting what they call the Chinese government's rough treatment of ethnic Uighurs in western China. VOA's Laurel Bowman has the story.

@tianlongprc Don't mix religion and politics up mate. When a Muslim state - Iraq- becomes the enemy of the US, another one -Saudi Arabia- could become its ally. The problem is about politics not religion. And Uighurs are believed to be (politically) the most pro-US Muslims by many academics. Would you support Uighurs if they were Christians (or Buddhists)? How the US supported the Muslim state of Kosovo then? discuss if this issue is a just cause, if you find out it's not just, don't support it.

Did you know that this women and these Uighur's are funded by the united states. What I do not understand, is why give them money to lobby our own government. The other thing I found interesting is they say that the Chinese government is fascist, and they want to form their own country, but to my recollection, looking at the other Muslim country's in that area, maybe they are better off with "Fascist China"
