Foucault's Pendulum--no, not the real one, but almost

I thought this was the original pendulum ball from Foucault's experiment showing that the world is turning. However, it turns out that although the Musee des Arts et Metier in Paris has the original, this is a replica. It's still worth checking out, though.

Unfortunately, Foucault's original pendulum bob was irreparably damaged when the cable snapped in 2010, and it was replaced with an exact copy.
