  • Allen had natural rhythm, perfect pitch, and virtuosity ....always demonstrated natural ability. He is forever and by far the best guitarist . And this band has been blessed with talent . There will never find another Allen Collins.

  • what a great video. i heard about this event. thank u 4 putting it on for all us Skynyrd fans. made me cry.

  • @Bullzeye95 Don't forget most of his best friends died in the plane crash :|

  • Notice the lonely microphone stand with the light shining on it.

  • Cool, but i think Allen sounded way better with his Explorer. But he will be the best guitarist forever. There'll never be another like him. R.I.P Allen, you will never be forgotten.

  • Sad is the fact that of the band that crashed in October of 1977, that only three members of the band and backup singers are still with us today... Artimus, Rossington and Leslie. They carry on the memory of those who have gone on the best that they can and I admire them for that. RIP Ronnie, Steve, Cassie, Allen, Leon, Billy and JoJo...

  • You should get your own videos instead of re-posting other peoples

  • Allen Collins was a bad man !!!

  • @RBFF123 Medlocke is light years from the natural skill and genius of Allen Collins. He doesn't even begin to fill AC's shoes, just a replicant who used to play drums for the band in the very early days.

  • @britt0243 I agree! I watched this a couple of minutes ago and had to go out to the garden and weep it out. There will never be another band as great as the original Lynyrd Skynyrd! I could watch Allen Collins play guitar forever, even though all we'll get to see at this point is these fabulous historic videos and what audio remains....

  • isn't that Charlie Daniels with them?

  • Poor Allen Collins. Seriously. His story is as tragic as any ever heard in rock and roll.

He was on the plane that day in 1977, and it seriously damaged him physically, including major damage to his picking arm. He struggled to keep playing, and in 1980 his wife died after a miscarriage. He lost it completely and became a drunk. In 1986 he crashed his car and paralyzed himself and killed his girlfriend; he never played again, and, riddled with guilt and sickness, he died of pneumonia in 1990.
