And just an FYI, I do own a Nordic 1660 which cost me $499 +$169 for the cabinets underneath, and let me tell you, it's one heck of a bench at any price.

And even if you do purchase your bench rather than build it, if it is a quality piece, you will still have great pride in it and get a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment from working with it. If you think you can't have pride in a purchased bench, go look at a Lie-Nielsen bench and then see what you think. You will have a tough time matching that quality!
If you want to see the features, than read the description on the Woodcraft site or go to the manufacturers site, it's that simple.

Anyone who can't understand what Charles is talking about has no concept of what woodworking is truly about. I have spoken to Charles several times, and can tell you he is one of the nicest, most genuine stand-up guys you will ever meet, not to mention he is extremely generous and helpful to anyone he meets. He is trying to explain what owning a true, quality woodworking bench is all about and the pride that comes with it. If you can't understand that, you have no business commenting here.

Charles despite all the criticism I think your video is clear and very descriptive a this beautiful benches . I agree 100% with the idea you convey . My Sjoberg bench is more than yes a work bench. I am not woodworking hobbies. I will be using this must beautiful device as a working bench
To work on my miniature Hit and Miss engines . Yes I understand how you feel about this must beautiful master workbench.

The point is, the Sjoberg workbench he is standing in front of is not $439. I would venture to guess that it's closer to $2000 than it is to $500.
It's a terrible video. Sorry, but I don't get emotional about a workbench I bought. Regardless of the price or quality. Nothing wrong with buying your workbench. But you can't tell me you can look at that bench with the same pride as a your-hands-made bench. And Sjoberg is a beautiful bench. I would like to have one. I just don't want to pay for it.

I would like to hear about the "truly amazingly new features that cannot be matched by other manufacturers". I thought he was heading in that direction but he seemed to have slipped into some nostalgic rant. How could woodcraft even post a video like this?

i would have liked to here about the vices, holdfasts, bench dogs, flatness etc because thats the whole point of the bench. just a thought.

This guy is horrible... why would I want to buy a thing with this guy pitching it ... I couldn't watch the whole thing!

but i'm sure its overpriced.
Actually Sjoberg benches at Woodcraft range from $439.99 to $2400. There is a wide variety to select from to fit many woodshop budgets.
