@Tanisha0782 speak on it. a strong woman does not have to say it. it will be seen in the way she carries herself. real strength comes from knowing who you are as a woman, a child of God, and tapping into the talents and intelligence He gave all of us. @shatoyta2000 By the "i-dont-need-a-man" additude, I mean the "neb-are-unnecessary-and-easil­y-replaceable-like-toys" additude wich feminism endorsed and is seen in a lot of black women. Anyway, explain why the majority of all divorces are filed due to financial reasons. If women would truly marry because of love this would not be the case.

Anyway, I do agree on the not buying into stereotypes part, but its black women who're getting them through vicarious learning.

@shatoyta2000 Marriages break up but it's not because a woman says I dont need you! she knows that before she marries. lol She marries a man because she loves him WANTS a life with him. It wont be an easy fix but we should stop pointing fingers. We should start by not buying into stereotypes. We African American men and women are seen in a terrible light by other black people globally! It will never change if we are contsantly at odds! the Willie Lynch Letter needs to be read!

cont. Do you want a woman who needs you or wants you?  I am a humble black woman but I am glad that I don't feel like I need a man. When a woman feels that she needs a man, she puts up with abuse and cheating and someone who doesn't work and wants to "hustle". As for the 1950s, the beginning of the civil rights movement, do you not think that BW were left alone because of those volatile times? there were men that went missing and some that were arrested. cont.

@blackman6270 One could say that the feminist movement started with women's rights way back in 1848! now, I notice that there does not seem to be a problem with black women globally but with African American women. I happen to feel that our black community in America seems to be doing better than others. WHy is that? There is a difference between needing and wanting a man. There are plenty of women who feel like they need a man and they get a certain type of man for the wrong reasons. cont

@shatoyta2000 (cont) The solution wont be an easy quick one like most black women would like to see. It seems like this generation wont be saved so we have to focus on future generations. Raising awareness seems to be the only thing we can do atm. So teach your sons to succeed and some pride and your daughters that they should be humble (and not loud-mouth, arrogant, overdemanding bitches). Arrogance is a trait that doesnt seem to suit any woman.

In the 1950's the black community had the highest marriage rate (around 80%!), then feminism came and the numbers came crashing down with it (in all races ofcourse). All women developed a "I-dont-need-a-man" additude but black women were the worst. Face it, black women kicked their men out of the house. Stats already show that single black women are the most abusive parents so its just a matter of putting 1 and 1 together. (cont)

@blackman6270 If I may, I don't think that the mothers alleged abuse is the problem. Boys are angry because the fathers are not in the home. I have met angry black men and they usually didnt have a father at home. They fight alot and get into trouble. They act out. Some straighten up and some don't. However, she did choose the father that is not present in most cases. We know about the problems, let's stop pointing fingers and try to fix them TOGETHER! sheesh! smh
