Texas World Speedway CCW, Oct 2 2010, Red + Instructor Run group.
Stock Red Z4M with Kumho XS 245/35/18 front/Dunlop Star Spec 275/35/18 rear and KW CS. Chasing an excellent driver (instructor) in Silver Z3M that is equipped with Coilover, rear spoiler, BF-gR1 race tires and Stop Tech Brakes.
Video begins at Start/Finish line, first lap was clean (no traffic), Z3M did 1:58.xx and my Z4M was doing 2:01.xx.
Notice how the 3s translates to increased gap (about 7-8 light poles) by comparing gap distance at time segment 0:00 (start) to time segment 2:01 (start/finish line).
I tried to close the gap on subsequent laps but too many traffic and I needed more grip....will try using R-compound tires next time when my street tires are done.

  • Nice video and great driving my friend!! I have now a lightly tuned Z4 M Coupe here in Brazil. Driving my ex BMW 130i I learn that street and track day tires are night and day lapping. In our local 2 mile track the street yoko advan and the toyo R888 were 2.5 sec. apart!

What I mean is : with equal tires you'd probably get the ( very nice too) Z3 M.

    One of my favourit videos!!!
