Here I recite the first chapter of Amórés (Loves), by Publius Ovidius Násó.

I get plenty of vowel lengths wrong, hesitate, and deliver it all a bit woodenly, because I'm reciting it from memory, and trying to get it all done in one take. Were I to make just an audio file, it would be much more polished.

You can get a PDF of the text at http://www.scribd.com/doc/20775398/.

The snippet of lyre music is from The First Delphic Hymn to Apollo, peformed by Michael Levy. I use this tiny extract under the doctrine of 'fair dealing'. Go to http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/mlevy4 to buy the whole album.

  • @ChameleonDaveOvid can hear me, and the other day I showed him this video.. He did not approve, and thought you were a raspberry

  • Ahhh, divine. Alas, I didn't understand a word, but the presentation is superb. I'll share this with my granddaughter who is studying Latin in university. I Commented, Subscribed, Shared and Rated 5* ...and you should too!
