Ghanshyam Thakkar (Oasis Thacker) is a very respected poet of Gujarati Language since 1970. Most of his literary work is in Gujarati language. He also writes in Hindi and English languages. He has published two collection of poems[Bhuri ShahiNa Kuva Kanthe, and Jambudi KshanaNa Prashna Padare.] The foreword for his first book is written by one of the top poet and scholars Umashankar Joshi. The foreword of the second book is written by Labhshankar Thakar, the pioneer of modern poetry in Gujarati language. His poems have been published in top periodicals of literature, since 1970.
In this video, he reads one of his poems [Jakhmo]. This poem is a Gazal. In a comment, he explains the characteristics of a good Gazal. The video also includes literary comments from Umashankara Joshi, and Prof. Madhusudan Kapadia.
