When you vibrate on low notes, you would better do a slow vibrato, and the higher you go the faster they are
nice job anyway, although that bass has nothing to do with Jaco's. The sound s got to be deep man!

Awesome job man, learned giant steps from ya and here i am learning from you again somehow haha, you just play the good stuff man. Hopefully this vid helps me grasp this song more because this is a rough one

what are the round things in the body of the bass between the bridge pickup & bridge? It that where they had rubber damper pads on the strings of some old basses?

They are screw holes... It is a Jaco Relic which is made to resemble his early 60's Jazz Bass which originally had rubber adjustable height string mutes in those positions. Music Man have them too, they brought them back in their classic series basses that you can pickup today.

I lose interest when a musician looks so bored. If you don't seem to be having fun it makes me feel as though you're not passionate about your music. That you don't "feel" it. If it ain't got soul I'm out. One of the main reasons I really listen to Jaco (I'm mainly a blues guitar player/jazz enthusiast) is his stage presence, as though he's completely lost somewhere between the notes. It's nice to see that in ANY musician. Have fun with it. Your audience will enjoy it more. Good job by the way.

I agree 200% its not the best example of bass face and bass neck... This is the first of the video's where I was planning on having the camera zoom on the hands and was basically afraid to move! Also its more for an example of how to follow along than a brilliant musical performance. I play a lot of blues and jazz IRL and I am a pretty animated character on stage, thats a different world. In my "Spare Time" I am working on some better video's of some stuff ;)
