I've wondered for a while how long of a string of these inexpensive Marx 4 wheel plastic cars could be pulled. They are so light weight, they tend to be pulled off the rails in the curves. The first effort on the inner loop with 42" curves made it to twenty cars, moved to the outer loop with 54" curves and I got it up to twenty six cars plus the loco's.

  • Really interesting. I noticed a rarity, a white B&O 467110 boxcar with red lettering. I'm looking for that boxcar. Thanks for sharing the video.

Thanks, I do have a few of the harder to find color variations in my 4 wheel collection along with some interesting PlastiMarx versions. My newest being a translucent orange Pemex tank car.

  • Impressive! How many motors in the locomotives?

  • The lead E-7 has a single stock open frame motor. The B unit is unpowered.

    thanks

  • Lol, you are having fun with this layout aren't you? The NYC AB unit looks nice. Seeing this train snake its way around curves is what its all about.

  • Pretty cool! I like your layout too - there's a lot going on there with the amusement park look. Good stuff - thanks for sharing!
