Back in 1984, I had a chance to buy a Buick Grand national or a Monte Carlo SS. Well, I got the SS cause my friend was going to get a GN. We went to the tracks and raced(Both cars straight from the dealer, bone stock). I got smoked every race. Much respect given to the Grand national owners.More respect to GNX owners LOL!!!

maner200... You are a "BABUZE" fucken idiot. Just as stupid as most dumb fucks (in the early 80's) who did not know how much power a turbo v6 could produce and yank out the v6 to drop in a v8thinking that the v8 had more power.

The GN is just an amazing car. I'll miss mine if I actually find a buyer for it in the lousy economy.

The best it ever ran in my hands was 11.95 on slicks and C16. Never did get a good tune on race gas. Also I had a non-lockup converter and only trapped 117 on that run. Whenever I had cutout with the bigger MAF and translator it was from incorrect timing, too much or too little. There was always a sweet spot for whatever gas I was running. Also, it may sound obvious, but make sure your spark plugs are gapped really tight when running that much boost.

that track looks like it's downhill..

It's funny how many people say that. That is Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The end is about 4' higher than than the starting line, then there's a pretty good uphill run to help slow down the car. It's just an optical illusion.
