Escaping Alabama's HB-56 law

Last June, Alabama became the fifth state to adopt laws against undocumented immigrants, with even stricter provisions than those in the Arizona law.
Starting on September 1st, the HB-56 law will grant the police extraordinary powers to act as immigration federal agents, authorized to stop those they have reasonable doubt to be in the country illegally.
In addition, HB-56 criminalizes hiring, renting to or helping undocumented immigrants. Furthermore, parents enrolling kids in public schools will have to supply proof of legal status.
For this reason many undocumented are leaving the state. Univision's "Aqui y Ahora" team traveled to Alabama to explore the law's impact.
