They come at us with knives; we go at them with guns. They come at us with underwear bombs; we go at them with H-bombs. That should solve the f@#king problem without the need to harass people at airports with all that bull shit security that is costing billions of dollars. That shit just creates more business opportunities for other worthless assholes! We just need someone with the balls to make the decisions. Make America feared; not ridiculed.
-
I think one of the founders said this--> America give up your freedom and liberty for a "feeeeeeeeling" of security. That will fix all your problems. There should be no limit at all to the amount of treasure your willing to be taxed away for those good "feeeeelings" of security. If you folks dont know that more taxation and bigger more intrusiveness is going to be the governments answer. Then you must be retarded.
-
This can be fixed folks dont worry. Government can fix it. We need a department of homeland security Part 2. Spend about 400 trillion more dollars. Investigating every single person that gets on a airplane. Open up about 13 dozen more government agencies. Hire a million more government workers. We need more laws on top of the old laws regulations on top of regulations. Maybe Obama can get his personal military force now. "As well armed and equipped as the regular military." said Obama.
-
So the terrorists goal is to make America overreact, and implement more security measures, in America, and take away more freedoms. How does that benefit the terrorists, exactly?
-
This certainly has not been an overreation by the whitehouse. No one has been held responsible, no one fired, 3rd terrorist attack against Americans outside the theatres of war in one year. Disgraceful incompetence.

good post about this on IDIOTS4OBAMA COM

added:
The strange thing is that I believe that would never happen today. If Syria or Lebanon 'allowed' Embassy hostage taking to happen and drag on, even Obama would not stand for it.
They use our own 'sensibilities' against us.
And I am NOT afraid to fly because of the panty bomber. Flying is STILL safer than it was before Lockerbie simply because it is, even with an occasional downing.

Ted thinks we overreacted because he is a moron when it comes to this issue. I don't agree with all the new security proposals, but what should our reaction have been, nothing, and wait for the next successful PETN airplane bomb? You're an absolute idiot on this one Koppel.
-
The terrorists do not care about our 'reaction', BTW. They do what they do for results ... killing as many innocent people as possible. Not to see what we or anyone else will do as a 'reaction'. Go write an inane book, fool.
This is disgusting!
Koppel owes his 'career' and gravitas to EXACTLY the sort of response he advocates. That is - an act of war against the US by Iran in 1979. When the Ayatollah failed to evict the 'students' and free the captives within thirty days, the US should have written the captives off and bombed Teheran to rubble.
That Carter did not, led directly to the scenario v Iran and AlQaeda that we see today.

Note to Ted:
I really don't care what the enemy/terrorists/AQ "think". For over 10-15 years they have proven their minds cannot be 'changed', even with Obama unclenching his fist to them. So, what THEY think, whether the attack was a success or failure, is irrelevant. They should be made to never 'think' again ...
