This nice piece is from Julian Bream's "My Life in Music" DVD

Before playing this piece Julian Bream tells the following:
"As I began to get more and more interested in the piano repertoire of Debussy, Beethoven, Mozart, Bach and so forth. I began to feel that the guitar repertoire was lacking a lot of variety, not only variety but quality, and so it was really the influence of the piano that changed my way of interpreting music on the guitar to some extent and very much so to trying to forge ahead with a notion that, at least in this country, there was a possibility of creating new music for the guitar that had no Spanish base or influence.

  • j'ai écouté cette musiqu de W. Walton interprétée par le grand Julian Bream sans doute plus de 1000 fois ! ! ! ! ( et je m'en lasse pas...)

  • nice mellow tune-great tone..looks fun. audio is (very) clear so I'll learn it.

  • @Gulzt Also thought about it when I first heard this!

  • Nice piece, reminds me of Erik Satie - Gymnopedie No 1

  • @Mkamalid I have recorded my own version as a video response. I hope it helps

  • @Mkamalid You're welcome. Look forward to hearing it in December

  • @Pipixcan69 Thanks again, I'm waiting on a better guitar to arrive this December. I'll try to improve my technique to take that guitar to the next level :).

  • @Mkamalid Seqential planting will be the best way to acheive the affect. Your guitar has nice tone so try and play with swells of ponticello in places. It will improve the sound even more. Nicely played already though. regards

  • @Pipixcan69 you are absolutely right. I let it go past me. sigh. I tried to do the staccato but I don't have the technique yet with Baring and picking. but I think sequential planting should do the job, no?

  • @Mkamalid Well played but look out for the C natural in the last triad in bar 13 plus rememner the stacatto in bars 17-19. Very good though
