Oh, my gosh - the director needs to learn to trust the music, trust the script, and adhere to the realism that is inherent in this particular show. And STOP forcing 1950's step-touch-step-kick amateur choreography on songs where the actors' natural exuberance would go a lot further in drawing the audience in. Nothing against the performers - they're doing their best. The concept is just all wrong. I try to imagine this director doing a Sondheim show, but it makes me want to put my eyes out!
