This 2002 documentary chronicles the life of Martin Luther, from his childhood, to his days as an ascetic Catholic monk, to his stance as the voice of reform from within (and, finally, from without) the Catholic Church.

  • Thank you for providing this excellent presentation.

  • I kinda feel sorry for Luther of the treatment he received when in Rome.

  • I can't imagine living in a world where the church IS the state. Sounds like hell on earth.

  • However I do respect eastern religious philosophies (excluding Islam) They seem to be the most peaceful and loving.

  • funny that people say that the apostle Peter went to Rome... When I read Acts is was the apostle Paul who was sent to the Gentiles...

  • @pseudorandom331 thanks but I would out of curiosity like to know who is in charge of the translations. Of Course not all Jews are bad just like not all Christians are bad. If this translation is correct it is an unchristian attitude antithetical of Biblical Teaching. God bless

  • @TheCuppycakedelight5 Luther was virulently anti-semetic. Just Google his work entitled. "On the Jews and their lies"

  • @pseudorandom331 what do you mean?

  • um, sorry but that lady commentator's voice is a lil funny

  • Poor old Luther. Too bad he didn't show simpathy to the Jews.

  • i like the more neutral information like this rather than from those biased people...

  • When he went to Rome he was a pilgrim like all the others. All his hearings were in Germany though and he had to go ahead with his reform because the established Church couldn't give him the answers he wanted.

Had they done so there might not even have been a reformation at all, with the formation of a new church but a reform of the old Catholic structures.
