I smiled weakly as he stared at me intensly. I waved, and then turned around, my eyes still fixed on the sight in front of me. The two of them hand in hand.


Everyone said that I was giving myself away, being committed to loving him until the day I died ; even thought we were only thirteen. I didn't care, he was the tiny little spark that sent people on rampages.


"Sam, what are you looking at?" Jessy Fowler sighed, and hit my shoulder. "Quit staring at Brianna and Mason. You're never going to have a chance with him, sweetie."


I knew every word Jessy spoke was absolutely true, but I didn't want to believe him. When I saw him release Brianna and head towards me, my heart fluttered. Jessy mumbled something under her breath, and I elbowed her.


"Hey Sam, Jess." Mason said, pushing his fingers through his beautiful mane of blonde hair.



"Um, hey Mason." I squeaked out in my high pitched-nervous voice. I blushed, and looked down at my feet. Why did he make me so nervous?


He was such an amazing guy. I'd seen how he handled the little lost puppy that wondered in the softball field that day. Plus he was such a sweet, caring, beautiful, and gah, I could go on and on about him.


I wasn't a stalker or anything. It's just I tend to be naturally put in everything he is. I can't help that I'm drawn to him. He's the stick of metal, and I'm pulled towards him because of magnatisim.


"Hey, so, I'm having a pool party tomorrow night. You'll be there, right?" he said, looking back over at a scowling Brianna.


Jessy smiled. "Of course!" she said hyper-enthusiastically.


Mason frowned. "Um, no offense, but I didn't invite you Jessy. I was talking to Sam." he said, flashing me a smile of pearly white teeth. Inside my heart melted like a popsicle in July.


"Sure, I'll be there." I said, rubbing my shoulder. He smiled then walked back off to Brianna. I could hear them talking sternly and very intensly.


Jessy smiled at me. "Well, Sam, looks like you got yourself a date with Mason."
