Keith Tracy, of Chaparral's CO2 Business Development unit, took a few minutes to talk with us and explain how long Oklahoma has been using CCS, how his company transports and monitors CO2 and the importance of accelerating CO2 pipeline infrastructure development. Chaparral uses captured CO2 for advanced oil and gas recovery.

  • has Chaparral been "set back" after the economic crash relative to enhanced oil recovery exploration? Especially in Kay County? Especially the North Burbank Field? I have Chaparral leases there but have heard no reports or intents to drill. Was wondering if exploration was continuing on?

  • Not sure about that one -- you might want to check their Web site!

  • thanks for the interest, but the website only adresses 1099 statements for mineral owners. Chaparral bought up leases before the "crash", and I'm curious to know if general exploration for Chaparral has continued on with "enhanced recovery" exploration, or not. I guess paying a Kay County landman for the info would help - I'd hate to bother a Chaparral field engineer for such a dumb question. Chaparral is now a big player...just wondering how the North Central Oklahoma outlook is. Thanks.

  • Nice shots and info. !
