This animation was produced during an "Animate-it" workshop in July 2010 for 12 Palestinian children from Nahr el Bared and Beddawi camps, between the ages of 10 and 12. This animation was produced as part of a child-led advocacy campaign, which is part of the "Protecting the rights of Palestinian children affected by armed conflicts through community-based mechanism in the Gaza Strip and North Lebanon", funded by the European Union.
Animate-it is a method used by SCS to empower children to use animation to discuss their concerns, report on their situation and educate other children and adults about issues important to their lives. SCS' Animate-it method is based on making the rights of the child heard and is aimed at providing children with a space to discuss and advocate for their rights.
The children are fully responsible for making all parts of the film: they write the story, draw and colour the characters in the film and give voices to the characters they create.
this is soooo sweet and creative: )
