Do you know how much overhead this RTS/CTS causes in a controller environment?

It's kind of hard to quantify by percentage, but here are a few things to consider. When enabled manually on the AP and / or client, the RTS and CTS frames will be sent at the same data rates (MCS) as other data. One more consideration, an RTS frame is 20 bytes and a CTS is 14 bytes which is the same as an ACK. In the end, if you are in a true hidden STA / AP system and that is causing excessive corruption, the slight overhead of RTS/CTS is well worth it. - GT
