This is Ray Turner's version of "Kitten on the Keys". Ray Turner's son was in the audience for this festival hilight. The El Segundo California 32nd annual ragtime festival was alot of fun to attend. Doncha like this version??

Makes other players playing the normal version look plain

(oh it ended.. Watching it again)

  • technique is impressive and i like his variations but interpretation is kind of rushed and muddy.

  • This man is brilliant and has no ego. He will share the stage with anyone as long as everyone enjoys the performance. way to go Frederick Hodges.

  • nice bowl cut

  • Really nice version !!

  • Oh hate that enhanced version. Its such a fun song without all that. But still a very very nice job. That is one hell of a hard song to play at full tempo. Wears you out.

  • By the way, Ray Turner's hands can be seen in the 1945 movie "Rhapsody in Blue" playing the medley of Gershwin hits in the opening credits, in case anybody cares. Like Frederick, he made it look way too easy.

  • Ray Turner, Harry Perrella, and Roy Bargy were all ,at one time or another, employed by Paul Whiteman, who only employed the VERY BEST musicians money could buy. Frederick is certainly in their league, if not BETTER!

  • Bravo !

  • BRAVO! I am a very accomplished ragtime and stride piano player and you rock!
