Actually this was after the Crucial Three. It was when McCulloch was the singer in A Shallow Madness, who became the Teardrops after he quit to form the Bunnymen. This is a great version, but I agree the Bunnymen Peel Session is still the best.
They co-wrote it but if i remember rightly they fell out 'cause of it - on the teardrop explodes version it credits mcculloch/cope but when echo released it as a b side they only credited mcculloch and cope was well p'd off!! i like both versions anyway!
I quite like the big fat brass arrangement on Kilimanjaro. But nothing beats the Bunnymen's version.
