It is a rather common technique used by professionals and champions to capture the lead with a strong defense at the end. In my oppinion the really pros frontrunning and sometimes stay behind for good items.

Exactly they're stupid. There's a reason why I do my 15 Minute Melee runs without B moves in general or the Screw Attack. It even helps me analyze the characters to find out why they're balanced as they are. It certainly did with Pichu and Bowser, that's for sure.
