My only real problem with this performance is the drummer. I'm fine with John's guitar playing. He's a blues guitarist, but I've been playing guitar for years and still can't play EVH stuff super well. So, props.

Of course it wasn't as good as the original, but it seems like the moment Van Halen fans saw the words "John Mayer" on the title of this video they decided that they'd hate it immediately. I thought it was pretty good tbh considering he usually plays blues. Also, he probably learnt this about an hour before going on stage looking at some of the performances he does.

Haha there are so many haters here. John mayer is the Man! Hes got a sick voice and kicks it on old school blues like "every day i have the blues"... Who cares if he rips off some SRV.... WHAT GUITAR PLAYER DOESNT. I think its sick hes jamming on some van halen, just having fun.... and thats what music is all about.... making people happy. So just smile
