Thanks for the video. I have siblings that have lived in Buckhead for 25 years! It hasn't changed much at all since they first moved there to escape from Atlanta.

Fun trip around Buckhead! @dianne's comments, just a couple of clarifications. Of course, Milledgeville was not the original capitol, that was Savannah. Milledgeville was the 4th capitol. It is pretty doubtful that Buckhead was considered for the capitol in 1868 given Atlanta's (changed from Marthasville in 1843) population and railroad connections at the time. There is a story that the Blue Springs area may have been considered as a site when the capitol moved from Louisville.

Buckhead was a thriving town in the late 1800s. When the capital of Georgia was to be moved from it's original site of Milledgeville, Buckhead was one of the locations considered, but a little town called Marthasville - later renamed Atlanta was decided on. The first building you see after the Post Office was Davis's store when I was child in the 1950s. The back of Bell's Grocery was a pre-school for several years, operated by Mrs. Charles Bell of Buckhead, now retired.
