Alessandro Baticci

Born 1991 in Milan Alessandro Baticci had his first flute lesson at the age of 6.
In 2002 he continued studying flute at the Conservatory 'G.Verdi' in Milan under Prof. Rocco Abate and started 2007 to study composition in the same institution under Prof. Giuseppe Giuliano.
2007 he founded the Sirius-Ensemble together with pianist and organist Luca Lavuri.
2008 he won the 1st Prize at international Competition 'Jugend Musiziert' (category 'contemporary music') performing 'Sonatine' by Pierre Boulez.
In the same year he won the 'Europa-Prize' (Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben) and the Prize 'Sonderpreis der Deutschen Musikverleger-Verbandes) in Friburg at WESPE (Wochenende der Sonderpreise) for his work 'Sirius'-Sonata op.289.
2009 he won the Prize 'Sonderpreis der Stadt Erlangen' for his interpretation of Carceri d'Invenzione IIb by Brian Ferneyhough.

He partecipated in various chamber music festivals and masterclasses with Hartmut Gerhold, Thomas Biermann, Arianne Zech, Jean Claude Gerard, Michele Marasco, Klaus Holster, Ransom Wilson and Barbara Gisler-Haase and in composition with Vykintas Baltakas, Manos Tsangaris, Klaus Lang, and Yuri Kasparov. 2009 he partecipated at the Sound Projection Course at 'Stockhausen Kurse in Kurten' under Brian Wolf.
He is member of the 'stazione orbitante' (www.stazioneorbitante.com).
He played in various festival such as 'Suono&Immagine' in Milan, 'Compositiori a Confronto' in Reggio Emilia, 'Rassegna Contemporanea' in Rome and Rondò 2011 'Palazzina Liberty' in Milan. Recently he recorded the work 'Spira op.19' for Solo FLute by Rocco Abate for Falaut 2011.
2009 he graduated 10/10 cum laude at the Conservatory 'G.Verdi'.
2010 he is Principal flutist of the G.Verdi Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory and plays under Donato Renzetti, Enrico Dindo and Amedeo Monetti.
He currently studies 'Tonmeister', Composition (under Prof. M. Lichtfuss) and Flute (under Prof B. Gisler-Haase) at MDW University in Vienna.

2011 his work 'Season of the Livings' op.393 for Flute will be pulbished and recorded for the Flute Series 'Magic Flute III' (publisher Universal Edition).
Alessandro Baticci is member of AKM in Vienna.
2011 he was appointed 'Composer in Residence' at Kyoto International Music Student Festival.
