  • Scotty, I have a 1998 VW passat and cant for the life of me figure out how to check and change my transmission fluid. Where would I fill it back up? My shop guy said that the transmission is supposed to be a sealed unit and to put a new one on because its slipping some. Any Ideas??

  • @alpha4005 VWs=endless money pits as they age. They are sealed, VW mechanics have tools and computers to check the fluid, but if it's slipping, it's a wearing out. And when you find what that costs, you may say adios to VW. They cost a ton to rebuild or replace correctly.

  • Scotty, i Can't find transmission dip stick on my Lancia Delta II 93' ...please help

  • @amin125ccm they don't sell em here in Texas and my data system doesn't include em, so I can't help on this one since I've never even seen one myself.

  • Hey Scotty, where is the transmission dip stick on 2001 daewoo lamps 1.6 engine. I want to change the oil, but can't find it. Please help. Thanks Scotty!

  • @77raymondt they don't have em anymore, engineers took em away.

  • Hey Scotty, nice DIY even if a bit abridged. I'd add that when we do trans oil changes over here, after R&R'ing the pan and filter, we also unhook the cooler line to the oil cooler, fill up the pan with new oil and start the engine so new oil will push the old out of the converter and cooler. Just keep her running until new oil comes out of the hose (while adding some to not suck the pan dry). Just removing the pan leaves a LOT of old oil in the converter, cooler and lines!

  • @STRIKER520 Hyundai and KIA share parts with Mitsubishi because Hyundai and later KIA built cars with licensed Mitsubishi components. the fluid is called SP III. if Hyundai or KIA fluid is not available you can use Mitsubishi's diamond SP III fluid its the same as the Hyundai and KIA fluid. according to the response from them.

  • Scotty, I meant to type daewoo lanos for the bottom message.
