I am a white jewish male and to me, Malcolm X was without a doubt, he was one of the most intelligent persons I have ever listened to. What people didn't like about him was that he spoke the truth... and he ultimately paid the price because of it. Forget about Islam, black or white.. truth is truth no matter what color or religion you are.

@UltraBLACKKK Thats very correct brotha and in response to healthyaddict Malcolm always said that he never advocated nor encouraged violence, nor did the nation of Islam in the 30 or 40 some years of there existence. He believed that it was the guilt complex of the american white man, that blame him for advocating hate when in actuality he was expressing the truth of the negro conditions in america and trying to bring about justification for those conditions which we can all agree were terrible

Did you dig him up, and piss on his rotting nigger corps? He had a dream, too. Now he's just dreaming.

May Allah, Almighty God, reward this great man for everything that he did. A truly fearless warrior. I'm a 20 year old young man and this man, 46 years after his death still is inspiring so many today. The reincarnation of a true African warrior, one who is willing to pay the ultimate price for the freedom of not himself, but of his people. Giving his life, leaving his children and leaving the Nation of Islam, because this man was a clean soul, just wanting truth instead of all the hypocrisy.

@AwesomeEmir because it is not the Sunnah but they still can visit the Rasool (saaw) said to visit the grave as a reminder of your place to come inshallah

@healthyaddict I see what you mean in that it seems that he was encouraging black people to literally take up arms but I would defer and say that this was partially metaphoric because he never committed any violent act himself. I think that he was more so calling for an alternative solution or perspective to the stagnant approach of this fellow civil right activist Martin Luther King Jr. Malcolm wanted black ppl to reneg their submissive view of the struggle and have more dignity.

@healthyaddict: I believe Malcom would also like for you to read.(they say if you wan to keep something from black ppl, put it in a book) Read about him. The Spike Lee film is good but I would read his autobiography he wrote w/ Alex Haley and there is a new book out. Came out this year by Manning Marable. It's called A life of reinvention:Malcolm X. Be warned though Im still currently reading this book and I feel very different about him. I still respect him but...
Most people I know have a somewhat negative view of him because of his use/encouragement of violence.
Evem though he may have been a 'good example of a good Muslim' and fought for equal rights - don't you think he'd be a bad example to give soley because of the use/encouragment of violence?

Yes he was that way, but when he came back from Hajj (The Pilgrimage to Mecca) he was a changed man. He discarded his racist views and embraced the brotherhood of humanity with an open heart. This was shortly before his death. I think if you see the Spike Lee movie "X" you'll see that.
