This 1 foot 11 inch narrow gauge line connected the towns of Barnstaple & Lynton in North Devon until it's closure by the Southern Railway in 1935. The line lay silent for about 60 years until a group of rail enthustists decided steam should again return to this National Park. This delightful line is again doing what it did best, providing a service for the remote community of Exmoor. So come & see why there is so much interest in this line.

From their Head Quarters at Woody Bay Station this line already runs for a mile to killington Lane. Further plans are to extend the line to the small village of Parracombe & then Northwest from Woody Bay Station to once again connect with Lynton, the lines original terminus.
