I always get excited when I hear that there's a tornado watch in my area. But then I watch videos like this, and then it is much less exciting and more terrifying. I wasn't born until like 3 years after this storm occurred, but I'm sure it was just an awful experience to go through.
I was in this tornado.. I'd just taken a left off of Airport road onto Whitesburg going toward Drake Avenue.. hadn't made it there yet when the storm came through.. I glanced down at the clock in my car while waiting at the light to make the left.. it was 4:33 PM... sunny and breezy.

@ILovestorms, the Greensburg, Kansas EF5 was 1.7 miles wide, so it wasnt off by much.

@talladegajunkie1439 No, is wasn't that wide. I don't think even the EF5 Greensburg, Kansas tornado of May 4, 2007 was THAT wide.

@ILovestorms, then it must have been 2.5 miles wide.

@nenebobb I heard stories about that. I heard a Goldbro sign was found in Gurley.

There were 21 fatalities and 463 injuries in this infamous November 15, 1989 Huntsville tornado.
