Why are you people making this about the government telling you what to do? There used to be a street on my way to work where I'd either have to just start going on the red light the second before it turns yellow or wait until someone actually stops on the green to let me through because I couldn't turn left because it was too busy. They put a left hand turn arrow there, problem solved. That's its purpose. Does Carolla only drive at night or something?

left turn arrows are meant 4 high traffic intersections. They are not made to tell uoi when its safe to turn. They are made so that when its busy u can get more then just the 1 or 2 cars squeezing the yellow light.

Been making left turns on red arrows for 3+ years now. I do it every day. I've probably done it 1500 times and not a single ticket.

In Sweden or Norway they took down the traffic lights at a very busy intersection, and traffic time was cut down by like 7 minutes, and the rate of accidents have declined substantially. It's the greatest myth ever perpetuated that we somehow need to government to establish order for us.
It's called ORDER FROM CHAOS it happens all throughout nature. Seemingly chaotic elements (people's self-interests) come together to create community and order. Fuck the State.

I agree with Adam. Just who the hell are these men in government who think they can tell the majority of us what to do? It would be great if everyone ignored the dubious laws and just made responsible decisions on their own. Society would be just as safe & efficient if not more so.
