This is a close 2nd to the original Drifters version. She's got a great voice and at times sounds like Clyde

Thought she was a black performer all those years in high school and beyond when we had no access to hear her live on tv.

I second that emotion! Ella Mae could easily have become the Queen of Rockabilly! I think she deserves to be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame for being such a strong early influence in the field. This song is a PRIME example of that! Thanks for your insightful comment! :)
