Storyline
The US military's best-of-the-best clash with Russia's mightiest and Vietnam's most fearless in bloody battles that the history books say never happened.

Activision's blockbuster 'Call of Duty' series rolls back the years for its next assault on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The scene has changed from modern warfare to the Cold War of the 1960s, where any physical confrontations officially took place off the map. Fortunately for thrill-seekers the covert nature of missions in 'Call of Duty: Black Ops' doesn't stand in the way of explosive action.

In the new game due this coming November, you'll roll out as CIA agents working within the newly established CIA's 'Studies and Observations Group' (SOG). These men were America's military elite, highly trained and significantly better supported than the Green Berets. According to surviving members that include Major John L. Plaster, author of several books on the subject and consultant on Black Ops, the SOG had free reign when choosing their tools from the armoury. Often this would include prototype weapons not yet in the hands of US military. SOG missions were so ambitious they would seem improbable. It's a perfect recipe for a console game, and we've already enjoyed a taste.

Two areas were shown during our preview session earlier this week, both demonstrating the variety of game play and audio-visual intensity of the new 'Call of Duty'. Our destinations were the mountains of Soviet Russia, and Vietnam's doomed Huế City. Both raised the bar in terms of theatrical excess compared to what you may have experienced in 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2'.

The Russian mission begins with two pilots clambering into the cockpit of an SR-71 Blackbird Mach 3+ strategic reconnaissance aircraft. They resemble astronauts in their altitude suits, and the camera lingers over the detail of the fuselage then the cockpit before the player is asked to lean back the joystick for take-off. It looks like a scene from a Jerry Bruckheimer / Michael Bay movie. This is all just a preamble for the mission proper, including the manipulation of the onboard camera providing a distant view of the Russian military base from the stratosphere. The Blackbird crew is providing recon support to the team on the ground led by Special Agent Mason, infiltrating what they believe to be a manufacturing plant for weapons of mass destruction.

I liked the Black Ops story, mainly cause i saw right through it.This was a cover story about the assasination of JFK and how Mason was a fictional manchurian candidate (look it up). Taht's why the story apparently "sucked".

If they had come out and revealed what the true story in Black Ops was, they'd have been sued or not allowed to release the game due to conpiracy theories.

Now, y'all can grill me if you want, or you can research what i'm saying and find out for yourselves.

I dont get COD black ops lol, I didnt even know a Black ops team existed in the 60's. I thought there was only the cuban missile crisis, soviet war in afghanistan, vietnam war, Korean war.
