Super Metroid - Opening

My pick of Video Game Music of the Week for the week of January 12, 2008.

The Metroid series was always known for it's dark tone and sense of aloneness, and Super Metroid continued this tradition. This music is from the opening to Metroid's third incarnation, and possibly the single creepiest tune from any Super Nintendo game, making the whole dark opening send shivers up anybody's spine. Super Metroid was definitely one of the best games on the Super Nintendo, and it's opening music is more than deserving of Video Game Music of the Week.

I played this when I was like 6 or 7 and back then, before Dead Space or FEAR, THIS was scary as shit.

@efyfe That's easily debatable, besides there not such thing as the best anything. It's all opinions truth be told. It's like saying the best car is the 69 GTO, or the best Disney Movie was ToyStory. That can't be proven true, or wrong so its an opinion.

@GladDestronger What about silent hill,max payne,mortal kombat, tomb raider,bloodrayne,hitman,stree­t fighter (any animated) and oh yes resident evil series & plenty of others... to tell u the truth im only into the 1st 3 i mentioned and street fighter cartoons but thats because i only hated resi series completely different 2 the games...

@GladDestronger Are you saying that because two other movies that were based on video games didn't do well in the theaters super metroid was never turned into a film because they assumed the same thing would happen to it? That's so illogical and stupid. What the fuck do those movies have to do with this? It would depend on the producer, the director, the casting, the script... Think of all of the movies that have been adapted from books. Some are bad. Is that a good reason to stop doing that?
