Very good advice....you should always warm up before taking off, full speed. And remember, if you can't play it well at slow speed....then it surely won't sound good at full speed. Also, vibrato work and technique development is very important. It's what helps make your sustained notes "sing".

i didnt realize he was so deep about his playing. i thought he was more show boating and lighting speed. It took me years to figure out to start slow then go fast, like athletes. wise words michael.

@sixslinger you ever think that shredders play from the heart as well? sorry, but people saying ignorant things like this is getting old. That chill that goes up your spine and makes the hairs on your arms stand up when you hear something truly beautiful and meaningful from a song? Yeah, I get that when I listen to guys like Malmsteen, Becker, etc. Just because YOU don't feel anything from shred doesn't mean there's no feeling there. Shred and blues are both great genres. Enjoy them both.
