Handicapped Carpenter Bee

I kept putting the camera down because I had to switch hands so it wouldnt go all the way past my shoulder.

I keep finding carpenter bees with one of there wings rotting away, they almost looks melted but I think what Im finding is just a result of old age, as I have found at least three individual bees with this wing problem now. Its disappointing because if this is true, they are still very determined to fly and do work.
