A quick video explaining how to fade out your Midi Clips.
I explained in my last video how to use the fades function in Ableton Live, but this function is only available to the Audio Clips and NOT on Midi Clips.
This is the only method I would recommend to "fade" your midi clips.

  • OR you just drop a utility plug, or something else with master volume fader in it and automate that. I solved the problem like this, because i hate to jump to the envelop than back.. again and again, and the mixers volume fader doesnt harmed at all.

Just an other tip for you guys!

  • @parkettasag This also works too! I totally forgot about this, i usually drop an EQ8 for it and use the output volume if i need to.

  • Or you can bounce midi to an audio channel and then fade :p

also make a video about mixing and mastering and doing a proper mixdown, im interested to hear what u have to say

  • @AbstractRecords You can do it that way, but notice how i said the "easiest" way to do it :) The only reason I would recommend that method is if you are working on a laptop, or low CPU / RAM system that can't handle alot of automation. Otherwise it is good to keep all the functionality of your midi, without have to go back and change something, re-bounce it, and re-fade the audio.
