Best viewed on a very large widescreen TV or HD projector.

Its great having this new HD option as the codecs can cope with the very high data rate that time-lapse videos need.

This is a time-lapse video I created this week of a drive around the city of Derby, Derbyshire, U.K at night.
Its produced in HD Widescreen format so you can enjoy it at high quality.

The video is made from a total of 687 1600x1200 photographs taken with a cheap second-hand modified Canon Ixus 430 digital camera.
Because each shot is a long exposure photograph of about 1 second it means that any light sources such as car lights or street lights become long light trails.

I have mirrored the images in Sony Vegas 8 so that the bottom of the image is reflected at the top.

The first photograph was taken at 19:51 and the last one at 20:17 on the 20th January 2009.
I'm sure you can do the maths to work out how often it took a photograph based on 687 photos :)

For those people who are from around here...
The journey starts on Agard Street.
0:13 Waiting to turn right onto Cathedral Road
0:17 Waiting at traffic lights near Dolphin Inn pub
0:22 Waiting at traffic lights next to cock-pitt island
0:25 Heading towards Pride Park

  • Yeah, thats how i played it. Definitely makes all the difference.

I have another channel on which i do driving videos from all round the country, wish the quality was as good as yours though, think i may need to invest in a decent camera!!
