  • I agree with ROWANV1. This lacks believability. Trying way too hard. It's just so forced and acted. And the script is abominable.

  • @JakeSickChicken Thanks alot for your honest feedback. This work is old and I agree with your comments to some degree. I'm seldom on YouTube these days, but will try to post some new work. Again, I'm happy to get balanced feedback; it keeps me humble and working harder. Cheers! Calvin

  • hey do u have script

  • sorry no script

  • Maybe this is just me..but i found it very forced, dishonest and with no subtlety at all. there was no real variation...it just came across as an actor trying way too hard to be a mental patient.

  • Thank you for your honest comment. You may be right in some ways. I wasn't necessarily trying so hard to be a mental patient as I was trying to work on a role that allowed me to show various emotions. Therefore, perhaps by doing that I did come across the wrong way to some viewers. Again, thanks for your feedback. Calvin

  • ok work. i was confused on what your character wanted as an objective. was he crazy or sane?? cause it seemed a bit of both. i took more that he was nuts but if that were the case you were playing "crazy". your sense of tactics were all over the place. it needs alot of work, but you did have some very clean real moments. keep working.

  • Did pretty good. i have my own monologue in my channel :) would appreciate it if you watched and left a comment

  • I dont say this often but This is one of the best monologue IVE EVER SEEN!!!! I

  • @da808mafia well it wasn't terrible like people are making it out to be. the thing is that people post their videos here for criticism and thats what you're gonna get. I can see where there is too much energy at times and that's what makes it less believeable. good job on the cry though, nailed it. i bet if he was to redo the monologue now it would be better, but he probably shouldn't because this piece kinda sucks lol

  • i thought this was really good. i believed that you were actually a nut and i can see this being in a movie. i can't really understand when people say your "trying too hard"? for example, what about the guy playing as joker in the dark knight movie? was he trying too hard to come off as that crazy character? what part of this monologue seemed like he was trying too hard? if it wasn't for the twitching and other gestures he wouldn't have came across as a mental patient.

    good job.

  • I'm a recruiter for AuditionAmerica.tv, and we'd like to see you submit a monologue for review by our panel of judges later this year. While you're on our website, be sure to sign our petition and help us get our new reality-competition for aspiring actors on network TV. Thanks, Natalia

  • where can i find the lines of this play??? i want to perform it myself..

  • If you've ever met mentally ill people who are in hospitals, they don't behave like this. They may go manic, but there's a vulnerability you always sense. You need to do more research.

  • Post your video on TheScenePlayer channel as a video response. Trying to build a community of actors. Let's get it going.
