To find out, you can search for: Gladys Hardy, Weekend America, March 10 (it's a news-radio magazine) On that page is a link to an "investigation" done by that news magazine.(It's entitled Gladys Calls). It will tell you who Gladys really is, if you want more details. You have to click on the "listen to this story" audio button. When I checked it, it was working. :) Just because Gladys isn't real doesn't mean it's not funny. BTW, I'm not Gladys. ;o)

its the funniest phone call ever. To be honest... I am now soooo
disullisioned that there isnt a "real" funny woman with hutzpah
named gladys. Oh well... but when you see the video it is absolutely
hysterical and so is Ellen.

In reality, Gladys is a man, a comedian. His name is Scott Hardy. But you are right, he does live in Austin and works part-time as a comedian and emcee for events there. He just does the old lady voice very well. ;)

It was found out she was a guy when a respected news magazine sent out a reporter to check once and for all. I know the link to the article, if you are ever interested. Not that it changes the world or anything. LOL. He should keep calling as Gladys anyway, because he does make people smile, that's for sure.
