This happened to me one time. I put COD4 in and it didn't respond. Turns out it had a small crack on the edge of the little hole in the middle. Check for cracks!

i have the same problem, however if i let the ps3 run for like 30 mins then put the disc in it works but sometimes i have to keep putting it in and ou then it works...try this

i got the same problem, 2 days after i got a refurbished one from sony because my first one broke, wouldn't turn on, the sent me a refurbished one, so after i got it, as i said, 2 days later it broke and got this problem : / just called sony again, and they're sending me ANOTHER one, it'll prolly break again :)
