Actually, Joseph Lamb composed the Sensation Rag, but he was little known at that time and the publisher Stark Music thought the piece would sell better with arranged by Scott Joplin on the cover. Lamb was very capabile with music notation and an excellent pianist as well. Some of his other rags, Top Liner, American Beauty and Cotten Tail are beautiful pieces and a challenge to play.
