Carrier IQ is a development company whose software has been installed on millions of smartphones and that logs and may transmit sensitive information -- including users' locations, the websites they visit, and the contents of their text messages and online searches. In the hearing today, Sen. Franken continued his inquiry into how the data collected by Carrier IQ is used and distributed.
