"Caravan" is a 1971 movie under Nasir Hussain films banner. Nasir Hussain and Sachin Bhowmick wrote the screenplay. Hussain's brother Tahir Hussain is credited as producer. It starred Jeetendra and the Nasir Husain fixture- Asha Parekh. It also had Aruna Irani , Helen and Madan Puri. Two more Husain fixtures were involved in the songs: lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri and music composer R.D. Burman

The story is thriller about a young woman played by Asha Parekh who ends up married to the wrong man (Ravindra Kapoor). Thinking that he has conspired with his girlfriend (Helen) to murder her, she runs away to find an old friend of her father's in Bangalore who may be able to help. Having no money, the only way she can get there is to join a traveling caravan. The crew of the caravan is the hero Jeetendra as Mohan, Mohan's sidekick Johnny (Kishan Mehta), and Mohan's younger brother Monto (Mehmood's real younger brother Mehmood Jr). Along the way, the caravan crosses paths with a group of gypsies that includes Madan Puri, Manorama, Aruna Irani, and another of Mehmood's brothers Anwar Ali in a comic relief role.

The film was a hit at the box office.

Lata Mangeshkar ( born September 28, 1929) is a highly known playback singer in the Indian Hindi movie industry. Mangeshkar's career started in 1942 and has spanned over six decades. She has done playback singing for over 980 Bollywood movies, and has sung songs in over twenty Indian languages. She is the elder sister of the equally accomplished singer, Asha Bhosle....

Lata Mangeshkar has won several awards and honors, including Padma Bhushan (1969), Padma Vibhushan (1999), Dada Saheb Phalke Award (1989), Bharat Ratna (2001), three National Film Awards, and 12 Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards. She has also won four Filmfare Best Female Playback Awards. In 1969, she made the unusual gesture of giving up Filmfare Best Female Playback Award, in order to promote fresh talent. She was later awarded Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993.
In 1984, the State Government of Madhya Pradesh instituted the Lata Mangeshkar Award in honor of Lata Mangeshkar. The State Government of Maharashtra also instituted a Lata Mangeshkar Award in 1992.
In 1974, The Guinness Book of Records listed Lata Mangeshkar as the most recorded artist in the history, stating that she had reportedly recorded "not less than 25,000 solo, duet and chorus backed songs in 20 Indian languages" between 1948 and 1974.
Although the entry has not been printed in Guinness editions since 1991, reputable sources claim that she has recorded thousands of songs, with estimates ranging up to figures as large as 50,000.
Lata is the second vocalist to receive "Bharat Ratna", India's highest civilian honour......

Mohammed Rafi (December 24, 1924 -- July 31, 1980) was an Indian playback singer. He has sung in many Indian languages, including Hindi, Urdu,Punjabi, Marathi and Telugu, but he is chiefly remembered for his songs from Hindi cinema (also known as Bollywood). His songs are widely popular in the Indian subcontinent. Along with Mukesh and Kishore Kumar, he was one of the three leading male Bollywood playback singers from the 1950s to the 1970s.....
