Well... What's left of them, really. c_c; In this video, I experiment with codes using an Action Replay Max to hack Van, Ion, and a null value into the party. I mean... As shown by the recording, pretty much everything just leads to freezes/crashes due to the absence of data, though it's interesting to know both Van and Ion, somewhere along the line, were originally planned to join your party. :D
Also, in case you're wondering, having Ion in your physical party doesn't enable the Radiant Howl Extension- he has to be in your party during the story. Trust me, I tried. :P And... well... That's about it. It's just a lot of nothing... But that's what's so interesting, right? X3
actually back in the days when this game was about to be released, the preliminal screen acaptures of the menu showed van's face in the upper corner of the menu...where you get tos ee all the character's faces...proving that at certain point he was going to be selectable...maybe like asch?...who knows...but it was possible...then they decided to take it away, maybe it was just some sort of space filling data to have it ready...dunno

You know, just because their base models are sets are able to be hacked into the menu, doesn't mean they were meant to join your party. I can effectively hack almost all of the outside enemy characters in Dot Hack GU into my party, but I'm pretty sure none of them were ever meant to be apart of your initial party.
