During a Senate floor speech this afternoon, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio offered his perspectives on his first year in office and the challenges that remain unsolved going into 2012. Below are excerpts from the speech.

Rubio: "We have never been a nation of haves and have-nots. We are a nation of haves and soon-to-haves, of people who have made it and people who will make it. And that's who we need to remain."

  • Impressive.. Presidential potential in years to come.

  • @Zapppo Rubio is an awsome American. Florida is proud to have a senator like Mark Rubio. You must be a treasonous Progressive Democrate to write such weasel juice.

  • @mrfrog44 That is not true - they have money to pay lawyers, but they have also worked for it. This country gives us all the opportunity to make it big. You just need to have initiative and brains. Some don't have that!

  • @nholley73 How about now?!

  • OUTSTANDING !!!! Proud to say I voted for you !!!! I only hope you run for President one day!

  • The only thing that will put trust back in the minds of the American people is if justice is served upon the people that looted this country. All that stuff he said means squat if there is no trust.

Otherwise it sounds great. But you try and veer the attention away from accountability you can bet on another plundering. And you put those same fucktards back in office there will be no difference.

  • yeah, the people "getting to the top" these days are the sleaze bags who are just exploiting people in one way or another. Meanwhile, the respectable lower middle-class person has to live in the dumps among the criminals. I'd love to see every person in this country cancel their cable TV, delete facebook, and buy NOTHING but necessities for the next six months, that includes not buying ANY junk food. That would probably be enough to crash a few industries.

  • Very impressive public speaker. Needs a bit more experience in office but hopefully he will run for Pres. before political corruption gets its grubby little hands on him.

  • I'm queer for this guy! Damn, why isn't he running for President?

  • Senator Marco Rubio speaks the truth. His priorites are right and his solutions are adequate. Rubio he tells us what the debt is doing to us and he tells us how to get out of it -- by growing the economy so it earns debt-paying power, buying power and hiring power. Of there solutions two don't work: 1) "Austrian" liquidation and austerity, 2) increased taxation. What can save us is government thin-air money that goes debt-free to households -- all economic growth comes from demand. -Lower Mid

  • Brilliant! This could equally apply to Australia, the UK, etc. Full of commonsense, which unfortunately is not so common anymore.

  • Why not just state it the way it is. Do away with Federal Reserve. Take power away from the banks. Crooks and murderers.
