And Arthas didn't actually want to kill them, it was frostmourne that made him, because the blade was cursed

Bolvar did not turn undead, he was alive, but he got captured by the lich king. Saurfang got turned into a death knight, but Bolvar didn't. Arthas tried to suck Bolvars soul out, but he couldn't. So he just captured him. What he means by the dragons flame is that when the dragons came, they burnt him.

...Bolvar got turned into an undead. He didn't die. And uh..he takes up the throne and seals himself up but controls the scourge. Arthas was still connected to the living and he wanted to kill everyone..
